OFF ROAD RACING
This is the 'Missile' currently being raced by Richard Everingham and Leon Bothma.
This car was concieved in 1997 and took 5 years to build two. Specifications as follows:
Engine: Mazda Rotary 13B Turbo intercooled, +/- 220KW at 6500RPM
Transmission: Jatco 4 speed automatic with lockup and three speed dropbox
Differential: ZF LSD, ratio 2.9:1
Front suspension: Dual A-frame, 500mm wheel travel. Nitrogen over oil spring damper unit.
Rear suspension: Trailing arm with nitrogen over oil spring damper unit.
Body: Carbon Kevlar with 8mm Shatterprufe windscreen and 6mm Lexan side windows
Cabin: Pressurized and airconditioned.
Frame: Square tube space frame.
Weight: dry - 1100Kg
Fuel tank: 160 litres
Water tank: 40 litres
Central tyre inflation system on all four wheels
Top speed: 195km/h
